Why Veridis Exists
Veridis believes in a circular economy where plastics retain their value and quality. We aim to standardise material certification practices with our MADSCAN® analysis technology, which can accurately distinguish between different polymer fractions in high-volume and complex plastic batches, with >99% accuracy.
Use MADSCAN® to verify incoming and outgoing polymer streams and assign accurate quality grades, increasing the commercial value of your product by providing the reliability your customers seek.
Revolutionise Recycling: How Veridis Tackles Plastic Waste Analysis
The plastic recycling industry is facing one of its most challenging decades since its beginning. New laws and regulations will raise the bar for producers and recyclers to adopt recyclates in products, single-use plastics will be phased out, and taxes on virgin materials will be enacted more and more in the coming years. It is time to develop new ways of recycling to ensure a circular future. Currently, the recycling industry will never meet the growing demands for high-quality recycled plastics or the Sustainable Development Goals. Veridis aims to be one of the pioneers of a new era in plastic recycling, putting these goals within reach again.
Veridis is an ambitious startup that wants to make the world a better place by tackling climate change and environmental pollution. The company was founded in 2020 by an enthusiastic team of young physicists and entrepreneurs who aim to develop new high-impact technologies that create a better future for humanity.
Values
Veridis is based on the idea of positive impact through science and technology. Our founding team has been motivated to make the world more sustainable even before we started the company. Recognizing that plastic recycling is incredibly complex and challenging, they decided to combine their physics, engineering and business knowledge to develop novel tools to improve the process
Veridis dedication to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Veridis is dedicated to the United Nations’ sustainable development goal 12 Responsible consumption and production with our core business aiming to increase and better plastic recycling. To this end, we include the following sub-goals in our strategy
Sustainable management and use of natural resources
We want to close the plastic loop by making it possible for plastic recycling to be more profitable and reducing the number of plastic waste streams that end up in landfills and/or are being burned. In the future, we also aim to step into other markets, like battery recycling, to push towards a more sustainable future and circular use of natural resources.
Substantially reduce waste generation
One way to achieve this is by making recycling more profitable and, hence more attractive for both consumers and companies.
Promote a universal understanding of sustainable lifestyles
Our product will obtain a huge amount of data about recycling streams and might be able to detect common contaminants, ineffective waste streams and more. This information will make it possible for smart choices and understanding when it comes to waste management, sustainable materials and sustainable lifestyles.
Other SDGs Veridis will contribute to are (directly or indirectly) 3. Good health and well-being, 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure, 11. Sustainable cities and communities, 14. Life below water, 15. Life on land
