Veridis MADSCAN®
The MADSCAN® Technology
Veridis’ patented MADSCAN® is a sensor array-based thermal analysis technology that measures the phase changes of mixed polymer samples at a batch-representative scale.
MADSCAN® uses up to 250 sensors per analysis, making it possible to detect and quantify the smallest polymer fractions in a sample down to 1%.
Due to MADSCAN®’s unique nature, polymer weight ratios and subtype ratios are measured accurately (e.g. differentiating between LLDPE & LDPE, PP COPO & PP HOMO etc.).
With the scalability of MADSCAN®, it’s possible to directly load both flakes and granules into the system of any colour, including multi-layered materials. By combining accuracy with scalability, MADSCAN® enables polymer insights with EASE.
MADSCAN® Systems
MADSCAN® Polymer Database
MADSCAN® is linked to a centralised polymer database that is included and continuously expanded for each MADSCAN® system. With a centralised Database, our customers do not need to build their own material database and can achieve reliable measurement results every time, with every system.
The MADSCAN® T-30 specialises in complex, mixed polyolefin measurements. From the T-50 and onwards, nitrogen flushing will be included in the MADSCAN® systems, allowing for measurements of additional (amorphous) polymer types.
MADSCAN® for Mechanical Plastic Recycling
Veridis MADSCAN® systems can be used by sorters, converters, compounders and producers next to the line in mechanical recycling facilities to measure incoming (flake) batches before processing and outgoing flake, granule and compound batches. MADSCAN® polymer insights enable reliable quality control, process improvements and quality certainties for your customers.
MADSCAN® for Chemical Plastic Recycling
Veridis MADSCAN® gives chemical recyclers exact insight into input streams prior to the recycling process to optimise plant parameters to increase material yield and quality of endproducts.
With the MADSCAN® T-30 system complex and unknown polyolefin samples can already be analysed as a service for customers in the plastic recycling industry in the Veridis lab.
MADSCAN T-50 & S-50
The MADSCAN® T-50 and S-50 will be standalone systems that can be used in both mechanical and chemical recycling facilities to analyse complex polymer streams of any type and colour at a batch-representative scale.
Conventional analysis methods such as NIR or DSC can give useful material insights but are not built for large volumes of heterogeneous and continuously changing plastics or cannot accurately distinguish between different subtypes or fractions in a material sample. MADSCAN® addresses both of these challenges via Veridis’ EASE-principle. Read more…
